Weather station

north guide

North is marked with the letter "N" on the wind vane. There are markings for South, East and West too. Please, use these markings to align the weather station correctly.

wire brackets

Wire connecting wind vane and anemometer should be tucked in the holding brackets to avoid the damage.

Solar panel

solar installation

When installing solar panel please check the following:

  1. North mark should be on the front side.
  2. Panel should point South if possible.
  3. Plastic straps should be below the wire, so you may remove the wire without cutting solar panel off.

solar coating

Solar panel has thin protective coating, please remove it after everything is done.

Microprocessor board

LEDs

Green LED is POWER, should be on if battery is connected. Red LED should blink when wind rotates the anemometer. Blinking does not happen all the time, only when system is gathering data (for 5 seconds only every half a minute).

These LED are useful for testing and checking is everything works, but they consume about 1-2mA all the time, so please disable them before sealing the box to save the battery.

jumpers on

Jumpers are ON. LED are enabled, use this for testing only.

jumpers off

Jumpers are OFF, LED are disabled and always dark. Please, put jumpers into this position when you are ready to close the box. If you forget to OFF the jumpers, battery life will be shorter.

Enclosure

dents

There are dents on the corners of the box, please align them properly.

silicagel bags

Please put one of these silicagel bags inside the weather station box to catch the moisture. There are 4 bags, and they can be "recharged" by heating or leaving on the hot sun for a few hours.
