USB-UART adapter
How many times did you wish your microprocessor had a large screen you can use to show some results or debugging information? Here's the solution – use any pin as serial output, connect to the PC and see the results on your favorite 24" monitor!
It's so convenient, we use them almost everywhere. Solder just two pins (GND and TX) and you've got the terminal output. Solder one more (+5V) and you've got your board powered from USB bus (no need for separate power source). Solder again (RX) and you may upload a data file or type in whatever you like.
Technical details
This adapter is based on FT232RL chip from FTDI.
Only the four pins are brought out – GND, +5V, RX and TX, which is supposed to be enough in most cases. Also, three very helpful LEDs are attached on the board: POWER, TX and RX, so you may see if it works and if there is any data exchange.
